Campbelltown Chamber of Commerce says it is “delighted’’ to announce that its August dinner meeting will feature Mayor George Greiss as the guest speaker.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 21, 6pm to 8.30pm at Wests Leagues club at Leumeah.

All local business people are invited to attend what will be one of Mayor Greiss’s last public appearances, having announced he is retiring from politics at the September 14 local government elections.

Councillor Greiss has served on the Campbelltown City Council since 2008 and was elected mayor in January 2022.

As mayor for the past two and a half years, Cr Greiss adopted a long term view by initiating policies and strategies that will serve Campbelltown well for many years to come.

He has also introduced features such as the singing of the national anthem, Advance Australia Fair, before the start of council meetings.

Cr Greiss chairs The Parks mayoral forum, an alliance of eight councils working together to advocate for the Western Parkland City.

At the chamber meeting on August 21 he is expected to address key topics such as the strategic initiatives for Campbelltown and the importance of community engagement in driving local economic growth.

His extensive background in urban studies and property development, coupled with his hands-on experience in local governance, promises to deliver a compelling and informative presentation.

Shefali Pall, the president of the Campbelltown chamber of commerce, is excited about the mayor’s appearance at the August 21 meeting.

“This will be an invaluable opportunity for local business owners and community members to hear directly from Mayor Greiss about his vision for Campbelltown,’’ she said.
