Ruse residents will soon be able to enjoy a modern upgrade to the play space at Cook Reserve.

Works have now started to build the new play space which will include updated play equipment, inclusive swing set, picnic seats and shelters and a new barbecue facility.

Sandstone block seats, shade sails, exercise equipment, tree plantings and an accessible toilet facility are also part of the new facilities that will be available after the work ahs been completed.

The park was designed following consultation with the Ruse community and incorporated feedback from residents.

Work is scheduled for completion in April.

Mayor George Brticevic, picture above on site, says the new playground will be a substantial improvement for Cook Reserve.

“This new playground is going to be a magnificent place for parents, grandparents and carers to bring the kids down during an afternoon or weekend and enjoy a picnic,” Cr Brticevic said.

“Providing kids with access to somewhere where they can play in a modern and safe environment is a key part of our state of play strategy which guides the development of new parks across our city,” he said.
