A proposed south bound off ramp above and across the ridgeline from the new M12 to the M7 will bring noise pollution for Cecil Hill residents.

MP Anne Stanley, who says NSW Roads and Maritime Services should rethinks its plans for the M12 Motorway at Cecil Hills, has launched a community petition in a bid to have the ramp plan changed.

The ramp was included in plans released by the RMS late last year.

Ms Stanley, the federal member for Werriwa, says the proposed ramp will significantly increase the noise and light pollution for residents in the Cecil Hills area once complete – on top of construction noise and inconvenience.

Launching the petition with Liverpool City Councillor Nathan Hagarty last week, Ms Stanley called on the RMS to seriously rethink the proposal.

“I am concerned about the impact of increased noise and light pollution on the residents of Cecil Hills,” Ms Stanley said.

No to noise: MP Anne Stanley and Cr Nathan Hagarty launch the petition at Cecil Hills.

“I encourage everyone to sign and share the petition, so RMS knows this is not acceptable to the community,” Ms Stanley said.

“The current plans are unacceptable, unfair and must be changed,’’ Cr Hagarty said.

“Not only will the community lose a beautiful part of Western Sydney Parklands, but local residents will have to put up with noise at all hours of the day and night”.
