Charishma Kaliyanda says she’s proud Liverpool is where it all started for the rollout of 100 new preschools.
“Liverpool was where this historic rollout began, with Gulyangarri in 2024 becoming the first of 100 new public preschools to open across NSW,’’ says the Member for Liverpool.
“Now we’re getting ready to welcome children at another three new public preschools as part of Labor’s commitment to investing in 2168 after years of neglect by the Liberals.’’
Expressions of interest are open for the three public preschools at Cartwright, Heckenberg and Miller Public Schools, which are almost complete.
A fifth public preschool in the Liverpool electorate is under construction in Cecil Hills.
Together, these five new public preschools represent a major expansion of access to public early learning for families across the Liverpool electorate.
Each new preschool will include purpose-built learning areas, staff facilities, a kitchen, amenities and landscaped outdoor spaces.
The new preschools are co-located on existing public school sites, helping children build connections with their school community and supporting a smoother transition from preschool into kindergarten.
Co-location also makes life easier for families, particularly parents with older children attending the same school, by simplifying pick-up and drop-off.
“Having these preschools located on public school grounds will help our youngest learners become familiar with their school community and make that transition into kindergarten a little easier,’’ Ms Kaliyanda said.
“This is a huge investment in our local kids and families, and I’m incredibly proud that Liverpool continues to be at the heart of the biggest expansion of public preschool education in NSW history.
“I encourage families interested in the 2168 and surrounds to submit an expression of interest now.”
