If you’d like to explore sustainable living, learn more about better eco-choices and treat yourself with hands-on workshops to save money, Live it Up, Live it Green is for you.

The much-loved free community event will be held this Saturday (May 17) at Camden Show Hall and Rotunda area at Onslow Oval.

It will feature family-friendly activities to promote sustainable living choices, connect the community and promote Camden Council’s wide variety of sustainability initiatives.

“Live it Up, Live it Green offers something for everyone, with a jam-packed program of activities and demonstrations to help everyone live more sustainably in a fun and engaging way,” says Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, pictured above getting ready for last year’s event.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the Camden community come together to engage in sustainable living experiences, while enjoying a great day out that the whole family can enjoy.

“There will be live music, food, upcycling and green cleaning workshops and the kids can explore some exciting reptile displays, see venomous snakes and discover insects, tree frogs and spiders.

“The event will be a mixture of indoor activities and outdoor activities such as workshops, demonstrations, specialised talks and information stalls,’’ Mayor Cagney said.

Visitors will be able to check out a live reptile display with snake pit and venomous snakes, and Hooked on Nature showcasing live insects, tree frogs and spiders, and free native plant giveaway.

There will also be an electric vehicle display by the NSW Government and Australian Electric Vehicle Association, green cleaning workshop, top-to-tote upcycling workshop, Camden Council sustainable living and waste information, free face painting and live music.
