A growing number of people are picking up the phone and calling 131 114, the Lifeline crisis support number.

Unfortunately, the statistics are staggering.

“Lifeline crisis supporters have been talking to 3,000 people a day, with calls becoming longer, more complex and more distressing, which requires more funding,” says Veronica McDonald, CEO of Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney.

“Our team has had an incredible impact on the lives of many Australians and will continue to do so by delivering vital services within the communities we serve.

“We’re committed to empowering individuals and communities to be resilient and safe,” Ms McDonald said.

On Saturday, June 22, Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney will host its annual gala dinner at the William Inglis Hotel, Warwick Farm and Ms McDonald is urging Macarthur to get behind it.

The prestigious event aims to raise essential funds for crisis support and suicide prevention.

The gala, themed in the glamorous style of 007, will be a spectacular evening of elegance, fabulous entertainment, and philanthropy.

Funds raised at the event will support Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney, which serves 16 local government areas from the Hawkesbury to Queanbeyan, and from the Blue Mountains to Bankstown.

“Our annual gala dinner is not only a glamorous evening, it also enables us to raise much-needed funds to meet the increasing demand for crisis support,’’ says Ms McDonald.

“The event also offers a moment for us to come together as a community, both individuals and businesses, so that we can all ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.”

Tickets to Lifeline Macarthur and Western Sydney Annual Gala Dinner are $200 each and include a delicious three-course meal, entertainment, and chances to win prizes through raffles and auctions.

Guests are invited to dress in black and gold cocktail attire, or their favourite James Bond movie character.
