Lifeline Macarthur-Western Sydney have received the 2022 Suicide Prevention Australia NSW LiFE Workplace Award.

The award recognises the organisation’s work with the community and the Lifeline Mobile Café initiative, which provides crisis support and mental health awareness.

The Suicide Prevention Australia LiFE Workplace Award acknowledges organisations that promote suicide prevention in the workplace or demonstrate an active contribution to address, prevent or respond to suicidal behaviours and their impact within the community more broadly.

“We are honoured to have received a Suicide Prevention Australia LiFE Award which recognises excellence in suicide prevention,’’ said Lifeline Macarthur-Western Sydney CEO, Brad Hannagan.

“This award is a testament to our commitment and vision of an Australia free of suicide, to our work within the community, and our compassionate staff and volunteers,” he said.

When presented with the award at the Suicide Prevention Australia States in Focus Forum on Tuesday evening, Leesa Potter, the Lifeline Macarthur-Western Sydney, general manager of crisis support and suicide prevention, highlighted how the Lifeline Mobile Café supplied by Peugeot Australia helps reach those in need.

“The Lifeline Mobile Café allows us to place our trained crisis supporters visibly within the community, it ensures we can be where we are needed at times of crisis and makes us accessible to people who may not otherwise contact our services,’’ Ms Potter said.
