
A 77-year-old woman, the alleged driver in a fatal hit and run this morning of a pedestrian in Leumeah, has been arrested and taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police say that around 10am today emergency services were called to Junction Road, Leumeah, following reports of a crash.
On arrival, officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command were told a pedestrian getting out of a vehicle had been hit by a Mitsubishi sedan.
The sedan left the scene, police were told.
The pedestrian, a 46-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, officers attached to PolAir located the sedan allegedly involved in the hit and run at a nearby sports centre, where the 77-year-old woman was arrested.
As enquiries continue, police are urging anyone with information, dashcam footage, CCTV or any further details to contact Campbelltown Police or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

In another fatality on Macarthur region roads, a 69 year old female motorcycle rider has died following a crash with a 4WD yesterday (Monday) near Camden.
The collision occurred around 2.30pm on May Farm Road, Brownlow Hill, about 6km northwest of Camden.
The rider was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, she died at the scene.
The driver of the 4WD, a 74-year-old woman, was taken to Campbelltown Hospital for mandatory testing.
