Leppington House Park boasts kilometres of walking trails, a play space, barbecue and picnic areas, lawn area and community garden beds.
The expansive 10-hectare park in Willowdale is now also open for residents to enjoy following an official opening on the weekend, which attracted more than 500 residents across Stockland Willowdale and Stockland Lakeside.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Councillor Darcy Lound, joined the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Stockland senior development manager Clare Roberts said the opening of Leppington House Park was a significant milestone for the community.
“We’re delighted to officially open Leppington House Park at Stockland Willowdale, which will become a place for the community to come together, relax, play and appreciate the heritage of the area,” Ms Roberts said.
“The park’s design recognises the unique character and rich history of the area that we know is important to the community.
“There will be something for the whole community to enjoy – whether that’s a stroll and picnic in the park, an afternoon walk along the trail, or a family barbecue while the kids use the open lawn areas.”
Last Saturday’s community event saw residents enjoy a sausage sizzle led by the Denham Court Public School P&C Association, coffee, gelato, and a wide range of family-friendly activities.
These included a reptile display, sporting activation hosted by Ready Steady Go Kids and a visit from Santa and one of his elves.
Leppington House Park is located on 72 Leppington House Drive, close to Leppington and Liverpool city centres, and the existing neighbourhood shopping centre, public school, childcare centre, 35-hectare riparian corridor and open green space.
Construction is also under way on a community centre, swim school and a second childcare centre.
Once complete, Stockland Willowdale will be home to more than 10,000 residents.
