The new temporary car park at Leppington Station has now become available to commuters.

Around 250 spaces are being provided during construction of a huge new state of the art multi-storey car park which will feature electric vehicle charging spaces.

The temporary facility, which was delivered by Camden Council on behalf of Transport for NSW, is located opposite the station on Rickard Road.

“The temporary car park is another step forward in delivering up to 1,000 additional parking spaces for public transport customers at Leppington Station as part of the NSW Government’s commuter car park program,” says State Member for Camden Peter Sidgreaves.

“The temporary facility will be free to use for commuters and will offset the spaces in existing car parks that are temporarily unavailable during construction of the new multistorey car park.

“Delivering infrastructure like the Leppington commuter car park is complex,’’ he says.

“It requires the State Government, local councils, land owners and our local community to work together to achieve the best outcomes for the community,” Mr Sidgreaves said.

Site clearing has been completed and piling work is under way on the new multi-storey car park, with construction expected to be completed around the middle of next year.

When complete there will be up to 1,000 additional parking spaces, with free parking for up to 18 hours for public transport customers.

It will include additional accessible parking spaces in the station precinct, lift access, road pavement and pedestrian pathway upgrades.

There will also be CCTV, lighting and wayfinding for improved access, safety and security, motorbike parking and solar panels and electric vehicle charging spaces.
