The National Premier Leagues Women’s NSW match of the round was at Lynwood Park on Sunday, where the struggling reigning premiers Macarthur Rams hosted 2025 season pacesetters Mt Druitt Town Rangers.

When the Rams equalized with 10 minutes to go it looked like the miracle victory they needed so badly was about to happen.

But two minutes into stoppage time the former Rams legend Leena Khamis, pictured above, broke the hearts of the locals when she beat a defender on the edge of the box before blasting the ball into the back of the net.

The 2-1 loss consigned the Rams to 11th spot on the ladder with just six points, from two wins in the first eight rounds.

Rams started the game with plenty of energy, creating the first chance got a goal just 10 minutes in when Jayla Li On Wing’s effort was blocked, while an appeal for a handball was waved away by the referee.

Rangers went ahead with a goal courtesy of an assist from Khamis, who had a terrific game against her old club.

Khamis was again in the thick of the action in the second half and could have scored a goal or two but for some great goalkeeping.

Across town, Bulls FC Academy were too good for Western Sydney Wanderers, winning 3-1 at Wanderers Football Park in an entertaining clash.

The Bulls have yet to find their groove this year, but there is no better opportunity than a local derby to notch a must-needed win to kick their season into gear.

It took them just four minutes to grab a 1-0 lead, courtesy of a world class strike from Petria Phillips.

Isabella Coco-Di Sipio made it 2-0 in the 24th minute, with a strike that ricocheted off a Wanderers defender and landed behind the goalkeeper.

The home side got back into the contest five minutes before half time, 2-1 to the visitors.

But the Bulls wrapped up the game 12 minutes into the second half when Coco-Di Sipio played a quality pass in behind the Wanderers defence for Phillips who confidently bypassed Hall and smashed the ball in for 3-1.
