Truck drivers injured in Hume Highway crash

A man has been injured after two B-Double trucks collided on the Hume Highway near Narellan Road this morning.

About 8.15am emergency services were called to the Hume Highway following reports of an accident near the Jim Affleck bridge.

Officers attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command, NSW Ambulance paramedics and Fire and Rescue NSW attended.

The driver of one truck, a 60-year-old man, was released from the wreckage after being trapped.

He has been conveyed to Liverpool Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the second truck, a 26-year-old man, did not sustain serious injuries.

Northbound and southbound lanes were closed temporarily, one north bound lane remains closed as the salvage operation continues.

Campbelltown Police are appealing for information from the community to locate a man wanted on an arrest warrant for breaching his reporting obligations.

Mateaki Lotu, aged 30, is wanted for failing to comply with his reporting obligations as a registrable person on the Child Protection Register.

Mr Lotu, pictured, was last seen in the Bradbury area in late February 2014 and has been known to frequent the Campbelltown and Liverpool areas.

He is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, with black hair, a solid build, approximately 170cm tall, with tribal tattoos on his right forearm and left hand.

Police have conducted numerous inquiries and so far been unable to locate him.
