Detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate five people involved in an attempted armed home invasion in South Western Sydney.
They have released images of some of the masked men (pictured above) hoping someone will recognize them.
The Moorebank home invasion occurred just after midnight on September 9.
Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command arrived and were told a group of masked men armed with firearms, a machete and pickaxe had attempted to force entry into the home; however, ran from the scene after being unable to enter.
The residents of the home, including two children aged 13 and 10 – were uninjured.
Police established a crime scene, seizing a duffle bag left at the scene and Liverpool City detectives established Strike Force Rockmay to investigate the incident.
Following initial investigations, strike force detectives believe the masked men arrived and left in a white BMW SUV, which has been recovered.
As investigations continue, strike force detectives are hoping to speak to five people who were seen in the area at the time of the incident.
Four men were last seen wearing track pants, hooded jumpers and face coverings. A fifth person is believed to have driven the vehicle of interest.
