There’s just one sleep left before tomorrow night’s inaugural Greek Trivia Night at Ambarvale Hotel – have you booked your table yet?
Hosted by the Macarthur Greeks, the gathering will be held to mark March 25, the Greek national day, which marks the start of the war of independence against Ottoman Turkey in 1821.
While there will be some formalities to mark the significance of the day for Campbelltown and Macarthur residents with a Greek heritage, mostly it will be a fun night, says the president of Macarthur Greeks, Eric Kontos.

“Yes, there will be Greek music, and maybe even some spontaneous Greek dancing at some stage – which I’d say would be a first for Ambarvale Hotel,’’ he says.
“It’s on a Tuesday night, which we know is a working day for many people, but we decided to celebrate March 25 on the day.
“We are grateful for Ambarvale Hotel for providing their venue for this gathering, which is open to everyone, and not just those with Greek heritage.
“And there’s a bonus: the Ambarvale Hotel menu will be available for half prize until 6.30pm, just for those attending the Trivia Night, which is a pretty good deal in these tough economic times,’’ Mr Kontos said.
These are the inclusions for the 50% items;
