Glenfield man in court to face firearms charges

A man was due to face court today following an investigation into illegal firearms in the Campbelltown area.

Following an investigation by officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command, investigators executed a search warrant at 5.20pm yesterday (Monday), at a home on Blenheim Place, Glenfield.

During the search police located and seized two rifles, a scope, a silencer and illicit drugs.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

He was charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm, two counts of not keeping a firearm safely, possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, possessing prohibited drug and cultivate prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court today (Tuesday).

In a separate incident, two teens were taken to hospital after they were assaulted at a house party on the weekend.

About 10.45pm on Saturday, emergency services were called to a home in Rymill Crescent, Gledswood Hills, following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were told that a group of about 10 males had attended a house party before two people were stabbed during an altercation.

The group then left in a blue Mitsubishi Pajero.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 16-year-old boy for a laceration to his forearm, and a 17-year-old boy for a stab wound to his lower back.

They were taken to Liverpool and Campbelltown hospitals in stable condition.

Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
