The fourth annual Macarthur retired and former police association charity golf day has raised $20,215.
The association’s 2026 goal was to raise enough money to support Campbelltown Hospital by purchasing a Verathon bladder scanner i10 portable non invasive ultrasound device which lessens the catheterisation of patients by 50 percent.
This reduces the risk of infection and other complications such as urinary dysfunctions, bladder obstruction, urinary tract infection and kidney disease.
This year’s golf day fundraiser was held at Camden Lakeside Golf Club last Thursday, May 28.
The inaugural day in 2023 raised $23,500 for defibrillators to be installed in police vehicles at Liverpool, and Narellan/Camden Local Area Police Commands.
In 2024 $15,500 was raised and was used to buy urgently needed equipment for Menangle Rural Fire Service.
Last year, $18,320 was raised for a KanMED baby bed warmer system for Campbelltown Hospital’s special care nursery.
The ambrose competition this year was won by the Mounties team of Trevor Wilks, Ian Buckley, Mick Sainsbury and Larry Roser.
Chris Ashton won the longest drive on the second hole, and Matt Harvey on the 15th.
Nearest the pin on the third was Max Madgwick and on the 14th that honour belonged to Clay Harding.
The association thanked hole sponsors Campbelltown Catholic Club, Police Bank, Barry Jones: Jones XL P/L, Club Menangle, Glen Cantrill: Industrial & Decorative Plating and Simon Williams: Geoscope.
Individual sponsors were Lakeside Golf Club, Marsdens Law Group, and generous donations by Outback Steakhouse, Stone Expression, Mounties, Ladies RSL Auxiliary.
