Campbelltown Arts Centre is excited to once again be hosting Fisher’s Kids this year.
This family-friendly celebration is even more significant as it marks the 40-year relationship between Campbelltown and its Japanese sister city, Koshigaya.
This free event, themed ‘Yonju’ (40 in Japanese), offers an evening filled with culture, creativity, and entertainment on Saturday, November 9.
On offer will be a special outdoor screening of the beloved Japanese animated film ‘Spirited Away’, under the stars on the front lawn of Campbelltown Arts Centre.
The event will see the venue lit by fairy lights, creating an enchanting atmosphere for all ages.
“I strongly encourage residents to come down to Campbelltown Arts Centre and get involved in what promises to be an unforgettable night,” says newly elected Campbelltown Mayor Darcy Lound.
“We’re very proud of our relationship with Koshigaya and it’s wonderful that we can come together as a community with events like these to celebrate it,’’ he said.
Locals will also be able to enjoy free workshops, activities, stalls and food throughout the night.
Screenings of Spirited Away include an early bird indoor screening at 4pm, the outdoor screening on the lawn at 6.30pm, workshops from 4pm to 6.30pm.
On the “menu’’ for the workshops is learning the art of Origami, create your own Twilight jars, make Sushi sweets and design Cherry Blossom scrolls.
Also as part of this year’s Festival of Fishers Ghost, market stalls, stage entertainment, kids’ activities and more will return to Campbelltown CBD as part of Fisher’s Twilight Fair this Saturday, November 2.
From 4pm to 10pm, visitors are encouraged to explore the Market Zone throughout Lithgow Street, offering a variety of artisanal and festival goods.
A full line-up of stage entertainment is planned for visitors to enjoy throughout the evening, at the Entertainment Zone located at the entrance to Lithgow Street.
“Fisher’s Twilight Fair is a great opportunity to enjoy a night out in our CBD and a wide selection of stalls and activities,” says council CEO Lindy Deitz.
“I strongly encourage everyone to join us at Lithgow Street this Saturday and experience the sights and sounds of this wonderful event.’’
