Residents are invited to help clean up one of Campbelltown’s most diverse wildlife corridors at Fishers Ghost Creek Reserve during this year’s annual Clean Up Australia Day.
The Bradbury Preschool Bushcare group will be hosting the event from 9am to 12pm on Sunday, March 2 to help clear rubbish from the reserve.
“Campbelltown is known for its stunning bushland, and we all have a role to play in keeping it looking pristine and beautiful, so I encourage everyone to roll their sleeves up and help out on Clean Up Australia Day,” says Campbelltown Mayor Darcy Lound.
“This event is being hosted by our Bushcare team and our Environmental Citizens of the Year at Bradbury Preschool, who do great work removing invasive weeds and keeping the reserve clean throughout the year as part of the Bradbury Bushcare Group,” he said.
People attending should ensure they wear enclosed shoes and appropriate sun-safe clothing. Refreshments will be provided on the day. Registration details at Council’s website.

In other council news, local youth services, businesses and organisations can now apply for up to $1000 in grant funding to hold their events and activations during Youth Week 2025.
Youth Week will be held from Wednesday to Thursday, April 9-17.
This year’s theme is I Am…We Are the Future, and the Future is Now.
Grant funding will support a wide variety of events and programs for young people, aged 12 to 24, meeting the strategic goals outlined in the Campbelltown Council Youth Plan 2024-2030, including opportunities, connection, safety, wellbeing, voice, and sustainability.
“Our Youth Week grants are a chance for local organisations, services and businesses to bring their ideas to life in support of youth in Campbelltown, while giving our youth a chance to further connect with our community,” Mayor Lound said.
“We’ve seen great success with our grants program in previous years and growing participation each year, so I strongly encourage applicants to consider how we can continue to provide more opportunities for our youth and the many young families that call Campbelltown home,” said Cr Lound.
Applications for Youth Week grants close at 5pm on Sunday, March 2. Successful applicants will be informed by March 14.
