Man in court over firearms seized during Tahmoor search

Police have seized multiple firearms after a search warrant was executed on a property at Tahmoor and a man has appeared in court facing several charges.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command, assisted by officers from South West Metropolitan and North West Metropolitan Operations Support Group (OSG)  executed the warrant about 4.30pm last Friday on a property located on Bargo River Road, Tahmoor.

During the search police allegedly seized a 12-gauge sawn-off pistol grip shotgun, two rifles – one loaded – and assorted ammunition.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station.

He was charged with six offences, and they include two counts of unauthorised possession of a firearm.

He was also charged with being in possession of a prohibited firearm, a defaced firearm, not keeping a firearm safe, and being in possession of ammunition.

The man was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court later on Saturday (October 14).

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man wanted on an arrest warrant in south west Sydney.

Jesse Curuenavuli, aged 22, is wanted by virtue of an outstanding arrest warrant in relation to a serious and violent offence.

Detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command are conducting inquiries into his whereabouts.

As those inquiries continue, officers are urging anyone with information about Jesse Curuenavuli’s whereabouts to contact police.

Jesse is known to frequent Fairfield, Liverpool and the Green Valley areas.

Anyone who sees Jesse is urged not to approach him but call Triple Zero (000).
