Second man charged in relation to fatal stabbing of paramedic

Police have laid additional charges as part of an ongoing investigation into the fatal stabbing of a NSW Ambulance paramedic at the car park of Campbelltown McDonald’s on April 14.

Strike Force Tapaulin, established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, arrested and charged with murder a 21 year old man who remains before the courts.

As part of the ongoing investigation, strike force detectives identified three prior incidents that are alleged to have occurred at Blair Athol, Ingleburn and Raby on Thursday and Friday, April 13 and 14.

Strike force detectives arrested a 22-year-old man at Macquarie Fields Police Station on July 27 who was remanded in custody.

He was charged with common assault, destroy or damage property, armed with intent, two counts of attempted wounding with intent, and stealing.

The man was scheduled to face Campbelltown Local Court today (September 6).

Police have charged two people as investigations continue into a fatal crash near Liverpool last Friday  night.

Emergency services were called to Sadleir Avenue, Heckenberg, following reports of a multi-vehicle crash just after 9pm.

A Mercedes and a Toyota Echo reportedly collided head-on, before the Mercedes hit a Toyota Rav4 and flipped on its side.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the Echo, a 24-year-old woman, and her 15-year-old male passenger; however, they both died at the scene.

The two occupants of the Rav4 were not injured, while the occupants of the Mercedes allegedly left the scene.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

During the course of the investigation, a 20-year-old man was charged and remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, investigators arrested a 21-year-old man at a home in Liverpool about 9.30am today (September 6).

A 22-year-old woman was arrested a short time later outside Liverpool Local Court.

Both were taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and hindering an investigation.

 They were refused bail to appear before Liverpool Local Court today (September 6).

A 61-year-old man was arrested in Cartwright at 12.30pm today and was taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he is continuing to assist police with inquiries.
