Two men have been arrested in Liverpool and Bankstown and are in custody over the fatal Ambarvale shooting earlier this year.

However, police say they are looking for a third person they believe can assist with their investigation.

As part of that, police will speak with the media this afternoon.

Detective Superintendent Grant Healey, Campbelltown City Police Area Commander, will address the media from 1pm outside Campbelltown police station.

Detectives attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command launched Strike Force Apslawn to investigate the death of the 65-year-old woman after a public place shooting at her home in Dickens Road about 11pm on Monday, April 14.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives, with assistance from the Tactical Operations Unit (TOU), attended a home in Atkinson Street, Liverpool, where a 32-year-old man was arrested.

At the same time, a 19-year-old man was arrested at a home in Sudbury Street, Belmore.

They were both taken to Bankstown Police Station where investigations are ongoing.
