Thousands of families in the Campbelltown electorate are set to benefit from a massive investment in public early childhood education, says local MP Greg Warren.
The State Member for Campbelltown (pictured above at a local preschool) said the State Government had awarded contracts to design and construct six new preschools in the region as part of a broader initiative to deliver more than 40 new public preschools across Greater Western Sydney.
The local preschools, located at Blairmount Public School, Bradbury Public School, Woodland Road Public School, Thomas Acres Public School, Leumeah Public School, and Ruse Public School – will provide fee-free, quality play-based educational programs designed to give children the best possible start in life.
These preschools are scheduled to be operational by early 2027 and are expected to cater to hundreds of local children.
The Campbelltown preschools are part of the NSW Government’s commitment to double the state’s public preschools by delivering 100 new facilities by 2027.
The six preschools in Campbelltown will join others across the state in helping to provide access to high-quality early learning for up to 9,000 children statewide by 2027, marking the largest expansion of public preschools in NSW’s history.
“Access to free, top quality, early childhood education is something that will be so valuable in our community,” said Mr Warren, who is the parliamentary secretary for education and early learning.
“The early stages of a child’s life are critical for their ongoing development. The NSW Government is committed to ensuring that all children get the best start.”
He said the government’s work to rebuild public education includes a record $8.9 billion funding in the 2024-25 Budget for new and upgraded public schools, including the addition of 100 preschools.
