
A man has been charged following a fatal crash in Glenfield earlier this week.
The 25 year old was refused bail to appear before Campbelltown Local Court yesterday, where he faced three charges: negligent driving occasioning death, fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death, and drive while disqualified.
About 4.15pm on Monday 16 June 2025, emergency services responded to reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Belmont Road and Canterbury Road, Glenfield.
The pedestrian – a 70-year-old man – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
The man died in hospital later that evening.
Specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the crash.
Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Kokoda Place, Glenfield, on Tuesday.
Police seized a silver utility vehicle and arrested a man, who was later charged at Campbelltown Police Station.

A further charge has been laid following a fatal crash on the Hume Motorway at Ingleburn late last year.
The incident, a collision between a utility and a truck, occurred on November 13, 2024.
The passenger of the utility, a 37-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.
The driver, a 47-year-old man, was trapped for a short time before he was released and taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The truck driver, a 36-year-old man, was not injured.
The driver of the utility was charged with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death and speeding more than 45km over the legal limit, as well as aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death under the influence of drug or drugs.
Following further investigations, on Monday that driver was charged with an additional charge of manslaughter.
He appeared before Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday over the new charge.
