A free program of grant-funded community events celebrating the annual NSW Youth Week is on offer this year.

Locals aged 12 to 24 years are encouraged to get involved in as many activities and events possible from April 16 to 26.

This year’s theme is Dream. Dare. Do, empowering youth to courageously pursue their goals through courage and creativity.

“Youth Week is a chance for us to celebrate the young people in our community and across the Macarthur region, by bringing them together and providing great opportunities to connect with their peers across Campbelltown,” says Mayor Darcy Lound.

“I’m thrilled to see the strong variety of events on offer this year, and I strongly encourage our young people to get involved in these great opportunities, build lasting connections and use these events to kickstart their own goals,” Mayor Lound said.

The NSW Youth Week program is supported by the NSW Government and includes six grant-funded community events:

  • Youth Open Day with The Collective Initiative;
  • Youth Week Kick Off with Headspace and Traxide Campbelltown;
  • Youth Amplified Podcast Workshop with Rainbow Crossing;
  • Spoken Pain Poetry and Expression Workshop with Talk2MeBro;
  • Get Informed, Feel Empowered Health Day with Youth Solutions;
  • Next Gen Youth Markets with The Sedgewick Avenue

Locals are also encouraged to support Youth Homelessness Matters Day on Wednesday, April 15 by purchasing a ticket to the Big Campbelltown Sleepout at Campbelltown Billabong Parklands in support of youth facing homelessness in the Macarthur region.

From 6pm, participants will be able to enjoy a variety of activities at the fundraising event, before taking part in an overnight sleepout.

The NSW Government supports this community-led partnership with funding provided under the Youth Week Grants Program.
