Club Menangle have revealed American-born singer Diesel as the headline entertainment for Garrards Miracle Mile on Saturday, March 9.
Diesel, pictured, will perform some of his classic hits across two sets complementing the excitement on the track for this iconic harness racing event.
Also known as Mark Lizotte, Diesel has spent three decades weaving an effortlessly magic musical touch into his rock and blues-fuelled sounds, both as part of the band Johnny Diesel and the Injectors and, more recently, as a solo artist.
With multiple number one ARIA charting albums under his belt, six ARIA award wins and millions of streams, Diesel’s trackside performance will be one not to miss.
“I haven’t played in this part of Sydney for a very long time,’’ says the man himself.
“We’ll be performing two sets on the night and look forward to seeing you all at Club Menangle for Garrards Miracle Mile on the Trackside stage with my band,” he said.
The refreshed 2024 Sky Racing Carnival of Miracles, to be held across the first two Saturdays in March, is one of the pinnacle harness racing events on the Australasian calendar, offering high stakes racing and vibrant festivities.
The carnival kicks off with Cordina Chicken Farms Chariots of Fire on Saturday, March 2.
Racegoers can expect a night of celebration and revelry with first-class harness racing and performances from The Voice Australia’s Luke Antony accompanied by DJ and producer Kyle Maguire, best known for his work with Birds of Tokyo, Pete Murray and Thirsty Merc, as part of Club Sol.
Diesel will be joined by The Voice Australia 2019 winner Diana Rouvas at the carnival finale, performing the national anthem prior to the feature race.
Diana will also delight guests with a vocal performance covering popular hits to open the night’s entertainment.
The entertainment lineup continues with DJ Zaku captivating guests in the Lawn Party Marquee to his saxophone and DJ mix resident trackside DJ Mimi performing across both nights.
Attendees will also be treated to the delights of Aussie Night Markets, have the chance to win $5,000 cash, and witness elegant racewear fashion on show in the coveted Fashions on the Field competition, pictured below from last year.
