One cyclist dead after head on collision with another cyclist at Ingleburn

One cyclist has died and another cyclist was seriously injured following a head-on collision in Ingleburn overnight.

About 11.10pm (Wednesday, February 19), emergency services were called to Harold Street, Ingleburn following reports two cyclists were involved in a head-on collision.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and treated a 49-year-old man, however, he could not be revived.

Another man, aged in his 20s, was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and initiated investigations into the circumstances behind the crash.

As part of those investigations a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Homicide Squad detectives have charged an 18 year old man over the shooting death of a teenager near Liverpool on the weekend.

Emergency services were called to Cabramatta Avenue, Miller, just after 11pm last Saturday after reports of a shooting.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the teen died at the scene.

He has since been formally identified as 18-year-old Omar Elomar.

A post mortem examination was conducted this week and found he died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Following initial inquiries by officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad took carriage of the investigation under Strike Force Cero.

As part of their ongoing inquiries, strike force detectives arrested an 18-year-old man at a home in Cartwright about 4pm yesterday.

Following further investigations, a search warrant was executed with the assistance of South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad at the home just after 8pm, where detectives seized various items relevant to the investigation.

The man was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with concealing a serious indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today.

Detectives are continuing to canvass the local area, and speaking with Mr Elomar’s family, friends, and associates.

Investigators are appealing to the community for any information that may be able to assist with their inquiries, including dash cam vision from vehicles travelling in the area during the evening on Saturday 15 February 2020 and the early hours of Sunday 16 February 2020.
