Businesses in the Campbelltown and Ingleburn CBD precincts are being offered up to $5000 to help them establish an outdoor dining area.

The Campbelltown Council outdoor dining grants grants aim to enable local restaurants, bakeries, takeaway shops, hotels, bistros and cafes to purchase quality outdoor dining furniture to establish or just improve an existing outdoor dining space.

“Outdoor dining is a great way to enhance our streetscapes and provides local eateries with an option to expand their business,” says Campbelltown Mayor George Greiss.

“This is an opportunity for any businesses that may have been considering creating an outdoor dining area to get that extra bit of funding that will help them purchase the right furniture needed to make it an attractive space for customers,” he said.

Assistance is available for businesses to assess the visual profile of their proposed dining area and to apply for the grants.

Businesses must have a valid outdoor dining permit to apply.

Grant applications close on Monday, October 16.

Further grant conditions and information on how to apply are available at council’s website here.

Wollondilly Shire Council will be hosting a series of free workshops to help support and educate local businesses during NSW Small Business month in October.

Council says it will be working with local facilitator Jill Heaton from The Unleashed Collective, Alex Hawkins from Business Connect and Julie Lewis, Business Concierge from Service NSW, to deliver the workshops.

The events have been funded by a grant from the State Government’s NSW Small Business Commission.

There are three free events on offer: Lunch ‘n’ Learn Business Health Check, and two Supper Sessions – Brand Strategy for Small Business and Social Media Marketing for Small Business.

“Our small businesses are the backbone of the local economy, not only providing essential goods and services but also creating jobs and contributing to the unique character of Wollondilly’s towns and villages,” says Wollondilly Mayor Matt Gould.

“Small Business Month is a fantastic opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication of small business owners and their teams, who have shown incredible resilience throughout the challenges our Shire has faced in recent years.

“I’m pleased to offer these free workshops to our business community, and encourage everyone to show their support this October by shopping and eating local.”

The workshops will include catering and will be delivered at the new WorkLife Picton coworking space in the recently refurbished Old Picton Post Office.

Numbers are strictly limited and bookings can be made at Eventbrite www.eventbrite.com.au/e/lunchnlearn-free-businesshealth-check-workshop-tickets
