They have already been widely praised for delivering Meals on Wheels, but now Campbelltown Council’s rangers will also help cafes and restaurants as part of a pilot program to support Campbelltown business.

The rangers will deliver the orders for five local restaurants and cafes which have recently started deliveries in response to the impact of the Covid-19 health measures.

The businesses in the program are Crave Espresso, Café Stamp, Macarthur Tavern, Chief’s Flame Grill Burgers and Raby Tavern.

“We’re really grateful for the support we’ve received from our customers and the wider community during this challenging period,” says Tracy Greenhalgh from Raby Tavern, pictured above with the mayor, right, a council ranger, and the Tavern chef.

“We’re delighted to have council on board to help us out and we look forward to working with the rangers to deliver some great food,” she said.

Campbelltown Council will work with the five businesses involved to evaluate the success of the trial before it is potentially expanded.

“We are taking a proactive approach to helping our community and supporting our valuable local businesses during this extraordinary turn of events,” says Mayor George Brticevic.

“It has been heartening to see the fantastic way in which many of our local cafes and restaurants have been supported by our community as they adapt their businesses to continue operating during this difficult period,” Cr Brticevic said.

“We’re committed to supporting local businesses and organisations and will continue to look at ways we can help,” he said.

Campbelltown Council last week announced that its rangers would be conducting deliveries for Meals on Wheels to help the elderly and vulnerable in the community.
