Wests Group Macarthur helped get the convoy for this year’s driving out violence campaign on its way in more ways than one.

Wests presented each member of the convoy a breakfast pack including a piece of fruit, fresh muffin, water and juice before sending them off on their journey around Campbelltown.

A small and socially distanced activation featuring Wests administration and floor staff was held in front of the club premises at Leumeah in a display of support for the campaign against domestic violence.

A balloon arch was set up, there were signed pledges from the Wests team and a short message from council that will remain in the venue in the coming days.

Wests board deputy chair and Campbelltown Councillor Paul Lake welcomed the convoy to Wests on Wednesday morning.

Council community and road safety officer David Behrens and the director of city governance Phu Ngygen took part in the ceremony before the departure of the convoy.

“Wests is pleased to support the 2020 Driving Out Violence convoy this year as part of our commitment to help put an end to family and domestic violence in the community,’’ Wests Group Macarthur said.

“Wests has a strong position against family and domestic violence, and abides by a set of principles that underpin our organisation’s response to family and domestic violence including a workplace charter that promotes a positive work culture.

“On behalf of the Wests team our pledge is to take action to end violence in our community, understand the impact of violence and educate people that violence is not a solution.

“We take this pledge to empower our community.’’
