Campbelltown Council is calling on the public’s help to identify this truck (above) which is suspected of being involved in the illegal dumping of a significant amount of contaminated household demolition waste (below) yesterday at Heald Road, Ingleburn.

The large quantity of household demolition waste was discovered on the side of the road this morning and is currently being cleaned up by council’s operations team.

Council is asking for anyone who may have dash cam footage or CCTV footage to come forward in order to help identify the alleged vehicle involved.

The suspected vehicle is a white Kenworth tipper truck with a dog trailer and white long draw bar under the carriage.

Heavy penalties apply for illegal dumping incidents.

Anyone who may have information can contact Council’s compliance unit on (02) 4645 4000 or email council@campbelltown.nsw.gov.au.

In other news, the community is invited to share their ideas and feedback to help shape the future of Varroville Reserve as part of a new master plan for the site known as the heart of the Scenic Hills.

The master plan aims to identify opportunities for enhancements to the 26ha reserve over the coming years in order to create a recreation space for the surrounding community while preserving and celebrating the character of the surrounding Scenic Hills area.

Residents can now take a survey online where the feedback collected will be used to develop a concept design.

“The Scenic Hills is a treasured part of the Campbelltown landscape and Varroville Reserve presents a fantastic opportunity to open up a large open space for local residents to enjoy while also preserving the important character of the area,” says Mayor George Greiss.

“The master plan sets a long-term vision for the site that will ensure the reserve can be enjoyed now and into the future so I strongly encourage people to share their ideas for what they would like to see as part of Varroville Reserve going forward,” he said.

Following the initial consultation, a concept design is aimed to go on public exhibition in 2024 for further feedback from the community.

The project is supported by the NSW Government through the metropolitan greenspace program.
