They’re off and racing at Club Menangle for another Team Teal campaign.
The 2024 Team Teal campaign, the annual initiative to raise funds for ovarian cancer research and awareness, has launched yesterday, February 1.
The Team Teal campaign is a partnership between WomenCan, the Harness Racing industry in Australia and New Zealand and Tabcorp.
From February 1 and until March 15, female reinswomen will take part in race meetings to drive awareness throughout the harness racing industry to its supporters and the general public – and raise funds.
Club Menangle, Australia’s premier harness racing venue, says it will continue its long history of supporting the Team Teal campaign in 2024.
It has committed a $200 donation for each win achieved by a female driver and a $200 donation for each female training win throughout the Team Teal campaign this year.
Funds raised from the Team Teal campaign will support ANZGOG’s education and prevention program – which aims to bring ovarian cancer survivors into the classroom of medical students to share their lived experiences.
It also contributes to the patient referral network, which enables women to have access to cutting edge treatments regardless of where they live.
“The club is proud to be a long-standing supporter of this fantastic fundraising initiative,’’ says Bruce Christison, CEO of Club Menangle.
“We hope to see many wins in the Team Teal colours.’’
