Campbelltown will celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day by offering locals the chance to participate in a variety of free community events and activities.

The 2025 International Women’s Day is on Saturday, March 8.

This year’s theme is “march forward’’, a reminder that direct action is required to achieve full gender equality.

“International Women’s Day is an opportunity to come together and reflect on the contributions and achievements of women in Campbelltown and across Australia,” says Mayor Darcy Lound.

“This year’s program is a chance for everyone in our community to celebrate these women, with an extensive community program focused on skill building, wellbeing and empowerment, in the heart of our CBD,” he said.

Events will begin on Friday, March 7 with a bush safety walk at Kentlyn, from 8am to 10am.

Also on the same day, from 10am to 12pm, a community picnic will be activated at Mawson Park, where everyone can enjoy stalls and activities hosted by local organisations and community groups such as The Junction Works.

Locals can also reserve their spot in a variety of women’s health and fitness activities at Forum Q, from 12.30 to 6pm, including a guided Zumba class, spinal and posture check, and self-defence session.

Mindfulness and wellbeing activities can also be booked at Aviary On Q, featuring therapy tutorials, a breathworks session, art therapy and flower arrangement workshops.

All activities are free at Forum Q and Aviary On Q, however bookings are required.

Bookings for the bush safety walk can be made by calling 4645 4000 or contacting bushcare@campbelltown.nsw.gov.au.

A full events program is available on council’s website.
