Three men have faced court on Thursday charged by Campbelltown City detectives over the alleged conspiracy to shoot a man earlier this month.

Detectives attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command, with assistance from the Southwest Metropolitan region and the State Crime Command’s Criminal Groups Squad and Raptor Squad, started investigating several public place shootings across South Western Sydney.

During this investigation, strike force detectives located and seized two kill cars, a Volkswagen Jetta and Suzuki Jimny both bearing stolen number plates, in Ingleburn and Minto.

A further search of a reserve nearby in Minto, resulted in a seized pistol and a magazine.

Following inquiries, with assistance from Northwest Metropolitan Region and Southwest Metropolitan Region Operation Support Groups, search warrants were executed at homes in North St Marys, Greenacre and Emerton on Wednesday.

Two men aged 21 and a 16-year-old boy were arrested.

The 16-year-old boy who was arrested at Greenacre was taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he was charged with possessing a loaded firearm in a public place, discharging a firearm with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm, and participate in a criminal group.

A 21-year-old man who was arrested at North St Marys was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with participating in a criminal group, possess ammunition without holding licence, possess a prohibited drug, discharge a firearm with the intention to  cause grievous bodily harm, and possess prohibited drug.

A 21-year-old man who was arrested at Emerton was also taken to Mount Druitt Police Station, where he was charged with discharging a firearm with the intention to  cause grievous bodily harm, and participate in a criminal group.

Police allege the group were organising the shooting as part of an ongoing business feud.

All three were refused bail to appear before court yesterday.
