Campbelltown detectives seize drugs valued more than $5m

Three men have been charged and drugs with a street value of more than $5 million have been seized in an operation led by detectives from Campbelltown.

The operation involved the execution of six search warrants across South Western Sydney.

Last Friday (March 27), detectives attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command with the assistance of State Crime Command executed two search warrants at storage locker facilities in Hoxton Park and Wetherill Park, as part of an ongoing investigation.

During a subsequent search of the storage units, officers allegedly located and seized more than 100 kilograms of substances.

The haul included cocaine, MDMA, GBL, methamphetamine and precursor chemicals, in addition to 5,600 vapes, drug paraphernalia, and items police will allege are used in the production of clandestine drug manufacture.

On Monday (March 30), search warrants were executed in St Johns Park, Fairfield East, Mount Pritchard, and Bonnyrigg.

At the Mount Prichard address, police allegedly located and seized heroin, MDMA, almost $70,000 cash, and items police will allege relate to the distribution of drugs.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the address and was taken to the Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with:

  • Four counts of possessing a tablet press
  • Two counts of supplying a prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity
  • Possess drug manufacture apparatus used in the making of a prohibited drug
  • Manufacture prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity
  • Supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, and
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100000 and more than $5000.

At the Bonnyrigg address, police allegedly located and seized cannabis, methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and MDMA, and more than $108,000 cash.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to the Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with:

  • Four counts of supplying a prohibited drug more than indictable and more than commercial quantity
  • Possess precursor intend to use in manufacture or production
  • Supply prohibited drug more than or equal to large commercial quantity
  • Possess drug manufacture apparatus used to make a prohibited drug
  • Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, and
  • Supply cannabis more than indictable and less than commercial quantity.

During the search warrant at the St Johns Park address, police allegedly located and seized cocaine, cannabis, and almost $420,000 in cash.

A 24-year-old man was arrested at the address and taken to the Cabramatta Police Station where he was charged with dealing with property proceeds of crime more than or equal to $10000 and two counts of possess prohibited drugs.

Additionally, at a search warrant at an address on The Grove, Fairfield East, police allegedly located and seized a small amount of cannabis and MDMA.

All three men were refused bail to appear in Fairfield Local Court today (Tuesday, March 31).
