‘Tis the season to be jolly as Camden comes alive with a number of activities to celebrate Christmas.

 Kicking-off on Saturday, November 28, Camden Council will live-stream the annual Christmas Tree Lighting by the Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, on its Facebook page from 8pm.

Argyle Street will be donned with Christmas decorations throughout December, with residents encouraged to take photos with the decorations using the hashtag #christmasincamden.

Other festivities include:

Kids can submit a virtual letter to Santa;

Live entertainment promoted within local venues;

Large Christmas photo booth in John Street;

Festive window displays throughout Camden Town Centre; and

A wide variety of options for Christmas functions, dining and get togethers.

“Christmas is a time of celebration and fun with family and friends, so we are helping our community get into the spirit,” said Cr Fedeli, pictured.

 “Although we cannot all come together and light the Christmas tree on Argyle Street, you can all still join us online to see it come to life. Then, in your own time, why not come through Camden and see it looking so beautiful, in a Covid-safe way.

 “It is also a great time to support your local businesses throughout the Camden area during Christmas.

“Life has been tough for many of us through this pandemic, so why not spread some Christmas cheer and visit your local eatery and shop from your local for presents this year.

 “Parents can also get their kids involved and submit a virtual Letter to Santa and we will make sure the letter reaches the North Pole for them.

 “While we all will celebrate through the festive season, I also encourage you all to do so safely by following all Covid-19 guidelines.”
