The NSW Electoral Commission has declared the outcome of the September 14 local government elections in Wollondilly and Camden.

The four Wollondilly east ward councillors elected are Suzy Brandstater, Matthew Deeth, Paul Rogers and Benn Banasik.

Elected in the north ward were Hilton Gibbs, Jacqueline Jenson, Ally Dench and Trish Hill.

Mayor Matt Gould, who was elected via popular vote for a second term, has welcomed the incoming councillors and thanked the outgoing councillors.

“Congratulations to all the successful candidates, and a warm welcome to the new councillors,’’ he said.

“I am really looking forward to working with the newly formed council to represent our community and advocate for this amazing Shire,” he said.

“This coming term is hugely important for the future of our Shire as the population growth in our NSW Government mandated growth areas takes off exponentially, meaning we will have to focus our efforts on securing infrastructure and jobs for these areas, as we also enhance our existing towns and villages and protect what we love about Wollondilly,’’ Mayor Gould said.

Following a comprehensive induction process, the new mayor and councillors will be publicly sworn in next Tuesday, October 8.

The first ordinary meeting of Council is scheduled for October 29.

Camden Council will have five new faces in the chamber when it first meets on October 15 to elect the mayor for the next two years.

North ward councillors will be Abha Suri (new), Vince Ferreri (new) and Eliza Rahman (new).

South Ward: Damien Quinnell (new), Rose Sicari (new) and Eva Campbell.

Central Ward: Peter McLean, Ashleigh Cagney and Therese Fedeli.

“On behalf of all Camden Council staff, I would like to extend my congratulations to the newly elected councillors,’’ the council general manager, Andrew Carfield, said.

“They will play a crucial role in setting the vision and strategic direction for the community. I look forward to working closely with the councillors to achieve shared goals and great outcomes for the Camden community.”
