Camden pub armed robbery netted $130,000 in cash

A 32-year-old man has been charged over an armed robbery of a hotel in the Camden area earlier this week.

Two men were involved in the robbery that netted them $130,000 in cash, according to police.

The 32-year-old was arrested at a home on Guildford Road, Guildford about 11.30am yesterday (Wednesday, September 25).

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station and charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction.

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday, September 26) where he was formally refused bail to appear at the same court on Thursday, November 21.

The robbery took place around 11pm last Sunday (September 22).

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were called to Camden Valley Way, Camden, following reports two men had entered a hotel and approached a staff member.

Police will allege the men threatened the staff member with a hatchet and took about $130,000 in cash before they left in a ute.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident under Strike Force Salcombe.
