Council has apologised for delays to repairs which will keep Camden War Memorial Pool closed until “early 2023’’.

But it says three other local water facilities will be available for residents who want to cool off during hot days this coming summer.

“Like many other council facilities, Camden War Memorial Pool needed extensive repair work following the significant flood impacts across the Camden area in July,’’ the council said in a media release issued today.

“The repair works being conducted are essential in order to operate the pool safely,’’ the council said.

“Unfortunately, due to contractor, supply and equipment availability, we are not expecting these works to be completed and the pool opened until early 2023.

“Council understands this news is disappointing in the lead up to summer and apologises for any inconvenience caused.

“The health and safety of the community is council’s number one priority and we’re working hard to complete these repairs so the community can enjoy the facility safely once again.’’

Dawson-Damer and Curry Reserve water play spaces are set to open for the summer season on Tuesday, September 20.

Both water play spaces, which will be open for the community to enjoy every day from 10am to 7pm until April 2023, along with Mount Annan Leisure Centre, will be the community’s primary ways of keeping cool this summer.

Dawson-Damer Park, located in Oran Park, is the Macarthur region’s largest water play space.

It has a number of water and non-water activities, including water slides, water spinners, a ninja warrior course, swings, trampolines, basketball facilities and picnic areas.

Being an inclusive facility, the award-winning Dawson-Damer Park also has wet play wheelchairs available for hire and adult change facilities.

Curry Reserve water play space in Elderslie, pictured below, boasts a large splash pad with 36 play features for all inclusive, accessible fun for children of all ages.

The award winning water place space is also an inclusive facility with accessible activities, wet play wheelchairs and the Macarthur region’s first fully accessible and accredited public toilet and adult change facility.
