Camden Festival enters its second virtual year with a jam-packed online program for residents to enjoy from the comfort of their own homes.

With the much-loved festival events unable to go ahead in-person due to Covid-19 restrictions, aspects of each exciting event have been implemented in the online extravaganza.

The program will run during September 7-24, and will include:

  • A create your own grazing platter tutorial with Millie and Co;
  • An online drawing tutorial class with Alan Baker At Gallery;
  • Inclusive activities with Mess it Up;
  • Cinema Under the Stars Facebook competition;
  • Lego building tutorials;
  • Scavenger hunt;
  • DIY at-home cinema kit;
  • An ‘around the world’ food directory;
  • Taste Camden Facebook competition;
  • Build a burger tutorial on Instagram;
  • Cocktail making tutorial.

Founder of local company Millie and Co, Amelia Kovac, said they are showing everyone at home how to make the perfect platter for any occasion.

“It’s so much fun making a cheese platter and the best part is getting to enjoy the beautiful creation you’ve made. It’s the best reward!” Ms Kovac said.

“My top tip is to consider how the colours work together; it makes a difference visually. A few little tweaks and tips make all the difference so tune in to bring the Millie and Co style home with you!

“There are so many ways to display cheese on a board and there are so many types you can use – it always keeps it interesting and fun.”

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the online program had something for everyone and was a great way to keep busy while in lockdown.

“I am proud of the way our community is still able to connect through online events, while our regular events are not able to take place,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Camden Festival is a celebration of Camden’s people, places and produce. Now more than ever, it is important to celebrate our community and wonderful opportunities Camden brings.

“I encourage you to connect with your family and friends virtually and enjoy the program together! Whether it be painting together over a zoom call or enjoying a beverage together online, it is important to be connecting with those who are most important to you!”
