Wollondilly Shire Council’s popular beach bus will hit the road again this summer, transporting Wollondilly residents to the beach and providing some relief from the heat.

The service offers residents of all ages free travel to North Wollongong Beach from various stops across the Wollondilly Shire.

Council, Picton Buslines and Tahmoor Coking Coal have joined forces to provide the service for the benefit of the Wollondilly community over a decade.

“The beach bus is an excellent opportunity to get out of the house and hang out at North Wollongong Beach during the holiday period,” says Wollondilly Mayor Matt Gould.

“A big thank you to Tahmoor Coking Coal who have kept this popular service going for a decade through their generous sponsorship, giving our residents the opportunity to access the beach.

“We hope we can continue this service for many more years.”

The beach bus provides free travel for Wollondilly residents of all ages to North Wollongong Beach from 12 stops across the Shire.

The hop on service will operate on four Thursdays this summer: January 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Two buses will travel on separate routes, one leaving from Bargo and the other one from Warragamba.
