
The region’s top women’s soccer teams, reigning champions Bulls FC Academy and Macarthur Rams suffered a heavy defeat and a 0-0 draw on the weekend.
Bulls FC Academy capitulated at the Village Green to go down 4-0 to home side UNSW.
Across town, the Rams had to be content with a -0 draw with the Western Sydney Wanderers.
At the Village Green, UNSW produced a statement performance with its commanding 4-0 victory over Bulls FC Academy.
Demi Koulizakis and Milan Hammond combined well to open the scoring, before UNSW extended their lead through a dominant attacking display.
A red card to Tamires Souza compounded the Bulls’ struggles, and allowed UNSW to run away with an emphatic win.
Bulls are in fifth spot after four rounds of the competition.
They host Sydney Olympic in round five this Saturday.
As for the Macarthur Rams, they ae yet to open their account after finishing with a 0-0 draw at Wanderers Football Park on the weekend.
Macarthur now have just two draws next to their name, and two defeats.
But there were some good signs against the Wanderers on the weekend.
The two sides could not be separated in a tightly contested 0-0 draw.
The Rams applied consistent attacking pressure throughout, while the Wanderers showed resilience defensively to earn a point.
Ultimately, neither side could find the decisive moment in a physical contest.
The Rams get a golden opportunity to record their first week in round five when they host Hills United FC on Easter Monday.
The match at Lynwood Stadium’s synthetic field will kick off from 3pm.
