Local state MP Greg Warren says that Campbelltown residents will benefit from the cost of living measures in the 2026-27 Budget along with everyone else in NSW.
However, he points out that the Budget also contains funding specifically for Campbelltown.
This includes $2.5 millionon the Service NSW Centre at Macarthur Square, as well as $643,000to fund 24 school crossing supervisors across Campbelltown.
Mr Warren says $160 million has been allocated in the Budget supply of social and affordable housing in Campbelltown, and to upgrade and repair existing properties.
There’s also $27.5 millionof joint funding with the Federal Government for essential works on Appin Road, including the continuation of planning for safety and traffic efficiency works, the commencement of construction on the Appin Road and St John’s Road intersection upgrade, and the continued construction of infrastructure to support koala friendly fencing and crossings.
The Budget includes a further $6.9 millionto continue works on the Georges River Koala National Park.
A key feature of the 2026-27 NSW State Budget is targeted cost-of-living relief measures including $100 off private vehicle registration, freezing Opal fares at their current 2025 price points for the next 12 months and lowering the weekly toll cap from $60 to $50 for 2026-27.
The Budget also scraps toll administration fees from July, saving at least $10 a notice, and includes a $1000 payment for more than 120,000 public servants because inflation in Sydney exceeded 4 per cent between the March quarters of 2025 and 2026.
“This is a responsible budget that not only supports our local households to manage cost-of-living pressures, but provides forward thinking projects that will match population growth with appropriate infrastructure and access to services,” Mr Warren said.
“I welcome this Budget and the significant commitments made to our Campbelltown community and to the South Western Sydney region more broadly.”
