The award winning YWCA Encore breast cancer exercise program is returning next month for another term.

Encore is an exercise and wellness program designed by healthcare professionals specifically for women who have experienced breast cancer treatment, reconstruction, or preventative surgery.

The program aims to restore mobility, flexibility and confidence through gentle land and water based exercises.

In addition to the physical benefits of Encore, guest speakers also provide participants with valuable information on topics relevant to women who’ve experienced breast cancer.

Support and connection with others play an important role in adjusting to life post-cancer and Encore provides the opportunity to connect with others who share a similar experience.

Having fun is also an essential element of the program.

Women who have been through the journey of breast cancer at any time in their lives are welcome to register to attend the upcoming program at Mt Annan.

The program runs for two hours – 12.15pm to 2.15pm – every Thursday starting from May 11 and until June 29.

Registration is essential and can be done via the website  www.ywcaencore.org.au.

For more information contact encore@ywca.org.au or 0449 904 011.

Also returning soon will be the Artist Exchange Makers Market at Campbelltown Arts Centre.

Featuring stalls offering artwork, ceramics, jewellery, homewares, textiles, woven pieces, and toys, the market is a showcase of the Macarthur, Southern Highlands and Illawarra regions’ diverse community of artists and makers.

The first scheduled day is Sunday, April 30, with another set for November 12.

Creative workshops for all ages will be running all day including macrame and a variety of kids activities and live music.

The arts centre education team will transform the Sculpture Garden into a “secret garden’’ experience, where kids will enjoy designing their own t-shirt (limited spots, first in best-dressed) and a puppet show among other activities.
