A man has been charged and property seized following a search warrant at a home in a Campbelltown suburb.
Strike Force Cepes was established by officers attached to Camden Police Area Command to investigate a number of break and enters in the Gledswood Hills, Cobbity and Leppington areas, between December 31 and January 13.
Following inquiries, about 9.45am yesterday (Thursday, January 18), a search warrant was executed at a home in Bradbury by police attached to the Camden Proactive Crime Team (PCT), assisted by detectives.
A search of the property allegedly revealed several items of interest including tools, drugs, firearm parts and ammunition – all of which were seized.
A male occupant aged 31 was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Police Station.
He was charged with 19 offences:
- Two counts of aggravated break and enter with intent – in company – steal;
- two counts of enter enclosed land (not prescribed premises) without lawful excuse;
- two counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner;
- two counts of larceny (more than $15,000);
- two counts of goods suspected stolen in custody of other (not motor vehicle);
- four counts of owner (not disclose identity of driver/passenger).
- acquire a firearm part without authority to do so;
- acquire a pistol part without authority to do so;
- possess ammunition without holding a licence/permit/authority;
- possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit;
- possess/attempt to – prescribed restricted substance.
The man was refused bail and will appear before Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday, January 19, 2024).
