Boy, 11, in critical condition after Camden trail bike crash

An 11 year old boy is in critical condition after crashing a trail bike near Camden.

Emergency services were called to a nature reserve on Hayter Parade, Camden South (pictured above), following reports a motorcycle had crashed into a tree around 2.55pm yesterday (Sunday, November 10).

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the boy at the scene before he was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command established a crime scene and seized the motorcycle to have it mechanically examined as part of the investigation into the incident.

In a separate incident, a 32 year old man appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of a teenage boy in Wilton over the weekend.

Detectives alleged in court the man stabbed the teen during a physical altercation on the side of the road on Friday night.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command attended the scene.

An investigation was launched by local detectives, assisted by State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, under Strike Force Polda.

Following a public appeal for information, a 32-year-old man was arrested after presenting himself at Narellan Police Station shortly after 4pm on Saturday.

He was charged with murder and refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court yesterday (Sunday, November 10).

He appeared via video link and was again refused bail. The accused is due to appear in court on January 8 next year.
