Campbelltown’s recycling mascot officially has a name, the Bincredible Hulk, thanks to the creativity of a local primary school student.

The winning entry by Savannah, who attends Minto Public School, was chosen from over 60 submissions in the name our bin buddy mascot competition which invited primary school aged children in the Campbelltown local government area to put forward their ideas.

When asked why she chose the name, Savannah explained: “The Hulk is powerful and that’s where the Bincredible Hulk idea came from.

“It represents the power we all have to make a difference through recycling,” the young creative said.

Savannah will receive a prize pack, and a special visit from the recycling mascot with the Mayor of Campbelltown later in the year.

Her school class will also enjoy a fully funded recycling education session.

“The competition has been a fun way to get our young residents thinking about recycling and how we play a part in reducing waste,’’ says Mayor of Campbelltown, Darcy Lound.

“It’s been wonderful to see how creative our local students were in coming up with names for our recycling mascot,” he said.

“I’d like to congratulate Savannah on her fantastic winning entry and thank all the students and schools who took part in the competition,” Cr Lound said.

There were also three runners up, Leo from Campbelltown Public School, Sofija from St Sava College and Ihsan from Ruse Public School, who have received prize packs for their entries.
