Campbelltown Council has announced the launch of a new waste education game, Bin it Right.
Aimed at children aged six and up, Bin it Right is a fun and educational game designed to teach children and families about resource recovery, waste management, and the importance of recycling correctly.
It reinforces how our everyday decisions and behaviours can help make a difference in our community and collectively work together to reduce waste.
The Bin It Right game empowers children to make more sustainable choices and share their knowledge with family members. It shows correctly sorting waste and keeping valuable resources out of landfill is something we can all do.
“We hope this game will become a great tool to teach children the importance of recycling and sorting our waste correctly, instilling that sense of responsibility towards the environment at a young age,” says Campbelltown Mayor Darcy Lound, pictured above giving Bin it Right the thumbs up.
“As players progress through the game, they will unlock key areas familiar to our LGA, including the Community Recycling Centre (CRC) and even the Campbelltown Billabong Parklands.
“This connection to our community helps evoke a sense of accomplishment and pride within players that will hopefully transfer to their homes and everyday habits.” Cr Lound said.
