
A man has been charged following a fatal crash in the Macarthur region last month. The 23-year-old was arrested yesterday at an address in Camden.
He was taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death (drive in a dangerous manner), failing to stop and assist, and negligent driving causing death.
The man was refused bail to appear at Local Bail Division – Court 3 today (Friday, October 10).
The fatal crash occurred on Thursday, September 25.
Emergency services were called to the West Parade, near Bargo River Road, Couridjah, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command attended and found a car and motorbike had collided.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene, however, the rider, a 65-year-old man, died at the scene.
It is alleged that the driver of the car left the scene on foot prior to police arrival.
A crime scene was established, and police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit in attendance.

A local female police officer has been charged over alleged domestic violence-related incidents.
It follows an investigation launched in May into alleged false allegations made by a serving police officer attached to the Central Metropolitan Region.
It will be alleged the 34-year-old female senior constable, when off-duty, caused a police investigation to be commenced after reporting the theft of a motor vehicle that was jointly owned by a former domestic partner where an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) was already in place.
Yesterday, she was served with a Future Court Attendance Notice.
She has been charged with a number of offences, including making a false accusation, and knowingly make a false or misleading statement.
She is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Tuesday 18 November 2025, while the officer’s employment status is under review.
