She may be in her third term as the Member for Werriwa, but it was back to school for Anne Stanley in the past few weeks.

Two of her visits were at the opening of new facilities at Clancy Catholic College (pictured above) and Christadelphian Heritage College.

And for Early Learning Matters Week, Ms Stanley dropped in at Organic Seedlings Education, which operates in her electorate of Werriwa.

At Clancy Catholic College, where 1,221 students are enrolled, Ms Stanley opened new general and specialised learning spaces and refurbished facilities.

Australian Government funding to the tune of $2.56 million through the capital grants program was provided for the work at the West Hoxton school.

“These new facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at Clancy Catholic College with better, more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn,” Ms Stanley said.

The new facilities will benefit current students as well as the many who will follow in future years.

“The teachers, staff and students at Clancy Catholic College have built a strong and positive school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities,’’ Ms Stanley said.

“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered new general and specialised learning spaces as well as the refurbishment of existing spaces to expand staff facilities and improve the art learning areas,” Ms Stanley said.

The local MP also took part in the official opening of the new secondary science block at Christadelphian Heritage College.

The project at this South Western Sydney school was delivered with funding of $700,000 through the Australian Government’s capital grants program.

“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered two general learning areas, two science laboratories, a chemical store and preparation area, lift access, amenities and a sports storage area,” Ms Stanley said.

Visiting children and educators at the early learning childcare centre, Organic Seedlings Education, Ms Stanley said early childhood education was vital to the development of young children.

“It’s important that we acknowledge the hard work of early learning educators, especially over the past few years,” Ms Stanley said.
