Around 1pm on Tuesday, February 4, a 74-year-old woman answered a knock on the door of her South West Sydney home.
When she opened the door she saw a man who asked to use her phone.
But when the woman offered to dial the number for him, he entered the Kemps Creek home and demanded cash.
He also took two gold necklaces and demanded the woman’s car keys before instructing her to get into the car.
The man drove the woman to a number of locations before stopping near Elizabeth Drive, Liverpool and getting out of the car, leaving the keys in the vehicle.
The woman got into the driver’s seat and drove off, before alerting police.
Now a 49 year old man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping.
He has also been charged with aggravated robbery in relation to a separate incident that took place a week later on February 11.

The man allegedly grabbed her handbag and ran, before being chased by a member of the public.
The man dropped the bag and fled.
About 9.30am yesterday police arrested a 49-year-old man outside a shopping centre in the Liverpool CBD.
